What can I do on Pepo?
Join and create Pepo Channels on any topic. Each Pepo Channel is a live messaging community connecting you with insiders and fellow enthusiasts. Share experiences and tips, post photos and videos, ask questions, get advice, meet people.

What can I post and share on Pepo?
Photos, videos, live videos, text, links , Q&A — pretty much anything.

Can I host my own Pepo Channel?
Absolutely! Pepo members create hundreds of new Pepo Channels every week.

How many Pepo Channels can I create or join?
You can join & create as many Pepo’s channels as you wish, for free, on anything you like.

How does Pepo know what I’m interested in?
Every Pepo member identifies up to 6 interests and expertise, and a location. Pepo then matches you to content we think you’ll find interesting. It works really well!

Are Pepo Channels all Public?
On Pepo you can create public, private, or secret channels. You decide who can view your channel and who can join!

Does Pepo offer moderation tools for Channel Hosts?
Yes! Pepo has the most complete set of live conversation hosting tools available anywhere. You can decide who can see your channels, who can post, and who can ask questions to the hosts.

Can I follow people on Pepo? Can people find and follow me?
Yes! There are tens of thousands of interesting people to follow on Pepo already. Search for people by location or topic. Join their stories and learn from their experiences. Ask questions. Share your own tips and advice.

How do I talk to people on Pepo?
A few different ways. You can react or comment on a post. Or, you can share a new post. You can also send free secret messages to people who follow you. If you want you can also allow people to message you without following them by adjusting your profile settings.

How do I find content to follow?
Search for whatever you’re interested in. We’ll show you great channels and Pepo members sharing the same interest.

What kind of stuff are people talking about on Pepo right now?
Food, travel, sports, fitness, fashion, gay and lesbian, interior design — you name it. If people are passionate about it, it’s on Pepo.

Do all Pepo Channels look the same?
No! You can totally customize your Pepo Channel appearance. Choose a cover image that suits you!

How will people find my Pepo Channel?
Tag your channel. Pepo is full of passionate communities of people who are constantly searching through tags for new channels and posts about stuff they love. Your stuff could be that stuff.

Where does the name come from?
Pepo is all about connecting people and passions. We wanted a name that was short, fun, and a constant reminder of people connecting with people and passions. People. Passions. Pepo!

Account

What is a verified account?
Pepo is a safe community with 0 tolerance for bullying, abuse, or spam.
On Pepo we encourage everyone to be a real person with real name and real friends.

Pepo offers badges or other marks to indicate that contact information a user has provided matches information maintained by that user in a third-party service (such as Facebook) that the user has connected to Pepo.

Some features of Pepo are restricted to unverified accounts.

Don’t want to use Facebook to verify my account
Pepo offers badges or other marks to indicate that the information user has provided matches information maintained by a third-party service (Facebook) that the user has connected to Pepo.

If you do not wish to use a third-party service to verify your Pepo account you can send copy of user’s identification document to support@pepo.com. A verification typically takes within 24 hours.

How do I deactivate my account?
You can deactivate your account by visiting the settings page on your profile -> Deactivate Account.

If you deactivate your account your Pepo profile will no longer be visible and you will not receive any communication from Pepo. Should you login again using the same phone number or Facebook account. Your Pepo profile shall be re-activated.

If you want to completely delete your account and all of the content you have shared on pepo, email us at support@pepo.com.

What does it mean that an account was banned?
Banned users are unable to login to the Pepo app using their existing profile due to violation of our Terms of Use.
If you wish to appeal a banned account, email us at support@pepo.com

How do I adjust my push notifications or stop getting push notifications from Pepo?
We are constantly optimizing our notifications system to ensure that you get the notifications you want and not the ones you don’t want or need.

You can change your push notifications for any channel by clicking on the cover image inside the channel and then selecting “Notifications” from the channel settings page.

You can also adjust your notifications for all of Pepo by clicking on the settings option from your Pepo profile settings page or by clicking on the cogwheel button inside the Notification Center.

You can also temporarily stop receiving notifications from Pepo by logging out of the app from your Pepo profile settings page.

Privacy & Content

What is the difference between Public, Private, and Secret channels?
Public channels – can be found by anyone and anyone can read the channel and become a member. Users can share links to public channels outside of Pepo and anyone with the link can view the channel online or join the channel on Pepo, once they have downloaded the Pepo app.

Private channels – can be found by anyone but only people with invites can read the channel and see who the members are. Members of a private channel can share links to the private channels outside of Pepo and anyone with the link can join the channel on Pepo, once they have downloaded the Pepo app. Other members have to request access before exploring the content.

Secret channels – are only discoverable by the people who have been invited to the secret channel. Secret channels do not appear in any public feeds nor in search unless the person has been invited to the secret channel.Members of a secret channel can share “exploding links” to the secret channels outside of Pepo.
The exploding links expire within 30 minutes of being shared. Anyone with the link can join the channel on Pepo, once they have downloaded the Pepo app, until the 30 minutes have expired.

How does privacy work?
We have adopted a follower model that means if someone follows you and you follow them back, then:
– They can invite you to public channels, and add you to private and secret channels.
– They can @mention you in channels.
– They can notify you about messages in channels.
– They will see the public channels you create and participate in.
– They will see the private channels you create and participate in, however if you were not the creator of the private channel they will not know that you are participating until they have also been invited or approved to join.

If someone follows you and you do not follow them back:

– They cannot invite you to public or private channels, nor add you to secret channels.
– They will see the public channels you create and and are a member of.

Can I block someone?
Yes. From any user’s profile you can block that person. Once blocked, that person will no longer be able to follow you or see your channels. You will also no longer see channels created by that person.

Can I hide the link to Facebook on my profile?
Yes. You can edit the visibility of the link to Facebook from your profile to either: everyone, following, or no-one.

I received a marketing SMS from Pepo. How can I opt-out of SMS messages?
Reply STOP to any Pepo SMS to unsubscribe. Reply START to resubscribe.

Or, email support@pepo.com with your phone number and a request to unsubscribe from SMS marketing.

What is Pepo’s policy on objectionable content?
Pepo strives to foster a safe community with 0 tolerance for bullying and abuse. We also strive to foster a community which is free from content that is offensive, insensitive, upsetting, intended to disgust, or in exceptionally poor taste. Please read our Terms of Use for more information about prohibited conduct and content.

How do users report objectionable content and what actions does Pepo take when there are such reports?
Users can report any message or channel by selecting the “Report” option. Upon receiving a report, Pepo’s systems automatically review the message or channel and the history of the message sender or channel creator, and an automated action may be taken regarding the message, channel, and/or sender or creator of the message or channel. A manual check of the message or channel and sender/creator also may be conducted. A determination regarding the message, channel and/or user is made typically within 24 hours. Users who violate our Terms of Use may be banned from the Pepo service.

How can I report another user, and what does that do?
Users can also report other users by clicking on the “Report” option from a user’s profile. Upon receiving a report, Pepo’s systems automatically review the user’s account and an automated action may be taken regarding the user. A manual check of the user also may be conducted. A determination regarding the user is made typically within 24 hours.

You can also report a user by emailing support@pepo.com and providing the user name and reason for reporting.

Users who violate our Terms of Use may be banned from the Pepo service.

What does it mean to delete a channel or message?
The “Delete” feature enables you to remove a channel you have created (including all messages in that channel) or individual messages you have sent within a channel. Using this feature will cause the channel or message to no longer be visible by other users. However, a user’s copy of the Pepo app may have a temporary local cache of the channel or message that will remain available to the user until the app has a chance to connect to our servers via an Internet connection.
Also, Pepo may retain a copy of the channel or message you mark for deletion on its servers for up to 365 days, except that we may keep it longer if required by law.
